Stolen by Lucy Christopher

Stolen by Lucy Christopher Stolen is a young adult psychological adventure thriller. Sixteen-year old Gemma is kidnapped while on vacation with her parents, and is taken to the australian outback. There is no escaping, the closest town is very far away, the odds of surviving on your own is near impossible. In time she learns that her captor is not as wicked as she thought. This book is in the perspective of Gemma, who is writing a letter to her captor. I love the characters in this book. Gemma's captor is highly misunderstood as the villain, even though he’s a kidnapper there's definitely more to him than meets the eye. He is seen as this awful person who's taken hold of Gemma for no apparent reason and brought her to the middle of nowhere. Although that might be true, he definitely had a reason for that.  It might not be right but it is very easy to see where he's coming from. Gemma just wants to escape from her captor but she will find it quite difficult with the never ending desert of the australian outback. Gemma realizes her captor isn't as bad as she initially thought once she gets to know him.

I loved this book. It was such a different type of book than I normally would have read, but it was just as good. It had such a unique idea to it, it was so simple, yet I kept needing to read more. I love the concept of the entire book just being a letter to someone. It had such a unique writing style, with the characters names being used few times. I would highly recommend reading this book, it has such a unique feel and it is definitely worth reading.
